Rodarte Inspired Nails

New York Fashion Week has ended but it left us with some beautiful nude trends. We saw almost bare faces, polished hair and beautiful nude nails. My inspiration today was this beautiful patterned nails we saw in Rodarte’s runway. To achieve it I used a couple of polishes, some Scotch tape and patience. According to Bazaar, Rodarte’s manicurists “hand-crafted a cross-hatched pattern on nude nails, a technique that took over 150 hours to create on a total of 30 sets of nails”. Obviously it didn’t take me this long but I’m wondering what they used to make these patterns. I normally use Scotch tape but I’d noticed it doesn’t last very long… any ideas?

Pineda Covalin is one of my favourite Mexican designers. They create magnificent prints inspired in nature.
My inspiration for this design comes from Covalin’s Monarch butterfly print. For this design I used  China Glaze Visions of Grandeur nail polish.
